In the women’s races Marion Fromberger was all fired up and ready to go. In the qualifying time trials she showed that she wanted to win, coming in second place, only 12/100 of a second behind the Italian Gaia Tormena. In the finals, Marion saved her energy and rode slipstream on the long straight, overtaking Tormena on the first uphill. Then in the technical passages she outrode the competition. And even in the final, Marion started relaxed, then attacked the World Champion from Italy at the end of the long straight. She managed to fend off the others right until the finishing line. A very well-deserved win.
