The Tour of Slovenia ended successfully for Team corratec - Vini Fantini, with Davide Baldaccini claiming victory in the KOM classification and Valerio Conti coming in 7th place on the final stage. After an outstanding performance in the second stage that gave him a temporary lead in the KOM classification, the rider from Lombardy, repeated his feat in the fourth stage. Going on the attack, he managed to win two out of three intermediate sprints, extending his lead over his rivals even further and consolidating his position in the classification.
“I’m very pleased to bring home the indigo (KOM) jersey from the Tour of Slovenia” Davide Baldaccini said. “It's the first time I've worn a leader's jersey since turning professional. This performance certainly boosts my morale and shows that I’m in excellent form for the Italian Championships on Sunday.”
Valerio Conti also delivered an excellent performance, finishing 7th in the final stage from Šentjernej to Novo Mesto covering 156.9 km. Despite the high pace and stress within the peloton, Conti was prepared for the final stage of the race and came in an excellent 7th place.
