Giro D'Italia Line Up

Official Team corratec selection for the Corsa Rosa

GIRO D'ITALIA

The official selection for the Corsa Rosa of the team led by Serge Parsani, Francesco Frassi and Fabiana Luperini

Pescara, 4 May 2023 - Eight riders dreaming of pink. The first Giro d'Italia for Team corratec will officially begin tonight at the Piazza Salotto in Pescara, where the teams of the Corsa Rosa will be presented, before the race starts on the 6th of May with the Costa dei Trabocchi Time Trial.

"When I think about where we started a year ago, it almost seems like a dream to be here. - says Team corratec Manager Serge Parsani - We are a young team and perhaps we have struggled due to our inexperience on some occasions where we could have played our cards better. At the same time, we've worked hard to improve and prepare ourselves in the best possible way for this prestigious event, which will be great exposure for our riders and our sponsors. We are bringing seven out of eight newcomers to the Corsa Rosa, and among them are two guys who have been with us from day one, from that rainy day in Venezuela when it all started. Unfortunately, we can't count on Nicolas Tivani this time, who was one of our leaders. Our goal is a stage win, and it will be an honour for me to share this adventure with Francesco Frassi, whom I've been working with for two years to bring Team corratec to the top, and Fabiana Luperini, a great champion who will try to pass on her experience and her desire for victories to these guys."

THE RIDERS
Valerio Conti, (30 years old, participated in the Giro d'Italia 7 times) - The most experienced rider in the corratec team. In his seventh Giro d'Italia, his best result is a second place in a stage in 2019, a year in which he wore the pink jersey for six days. After a difficult start to the season, he delivered encouraging performances at Il Giro di Sicilia and the Giro della Città Metropolitana di Reggio Calabria.

Nicolas Dalla Valle, (25) – An up-and-coming sprinter. Five top 10s in the season (with a 3rd place at Circuto del Porto) and an excellent willingness to work as a team.

Stefano Gandin, (27) – has been with the corratec team for two years, a rider adept at getting into breakaways and good at sprinting. He won twice in 2022, his first year as a professional, taking the GPM jersey at Il Giro di Sicilia.

Alessandro Iacchi, (23) - Despite his young age, he is one of the most experienced riders in the corratec team. His preparation for the Giro d'Italia suffered a setback after a crash at the Region Pays de la Loire Tour.

Alexander Konychev, (24) - A promising protegé of Italian cycling who is trying to carve out a space for himself among the professionals. His best result in April was 8th place at the GP Vorarlberg.

Charlie Quarterman, (24) – A former U-23 National Time Trial Champion, this Brit wants to show his true qualities. He has often been seen on the attack in the early part of the season.

Veljko Stojnic, (24) - Also part of the original corratec team line-up, after some health problems at the start of the season, he is now firing on all cylinders. Able to attack the breakaways, he recently picked up a 6th place in Austria, which gives him confidence for the climbs in the race.

Karel Vacek, (22) - The youngest rider of our line up. He will try to prove himself on the hardest stages of his Grand Tour debut.
