Hooray, hooray, we're going to Timișoara!
At the beginning of August 2022, the time had finally come! The grand opening of our new corratec factory in Romania was coming up. Since it was also very important for the management that the employees in Raubling get to know the new location, the Romanian colleagues and the city. Timișoara is recognised beyond Romanians as "little Vienna", with a beautiful old town, many cafés and colourful facades. The city is also a promising candidate for the title "European Capital of Culture 2023".
So a group of colleagues went by coach to Timișoara - breakfast was on board and everyone was ready for the road trip. Once in Romania, everyone had the opportunity to take part in a guided tour of the city, including a tasting of Romanian beer. While we listened to the stories about the history of Timișoara, we were able to find the best bars for the evening - there is no lack of choice here! Many street cafés invite you to linger in the evening.

The next day, after breakfast, we went to the new production site. The total of 160 national and international guests were first able to get to know the 50,000 m² site through a guided tour of the company, led by Konrad, Cielo or Johannes Irlbacher himself. Afterwards, an exhibition of the season's highlight bikes as well as drinks and canapés awaited them, followed by the official ceremony. The corratec management and Romanian representatives from politics and the press expressed their joy for the new factory and the Bavarian-Romanian cooperation.
1st corratec Race at the Piața Unirii
The day was crowned by the Mountain Bike Cross Country Eliminator Race in the afternoon in the city centre. Equipped with VIP passes, all employees were able to experience the special atmosphere directly at the race track and follow the race up close. The highlight was of course the start of world champion Simon Gegenheimer on his corratec REVO BOW together with his international teammates and his teammate Marion Fromberger from the MTB racing team sponsored by corratec. In addition to excitement and action, the physical well-being was also provided for, because clapping makes you hungry! In the end, a Romanian compatriot took the victory and thrilled the crowds around the race track. After the race, many colleagues went to a bar nearby before leaving early the next day. Super experience!
