corratec to Produce Simplon Bikes in Romania Starting 2026

The Bavarian bike manufacturer corratec continues on its growth path: Starting in 2026, selected models from the Austrian premium brand Simplon will be assembled at corratec’s production facility in Timișoara, Romania. This partnership reinforces corratec’s position as a reliable partner for high-quality contract manufacturing and highlights its expertise in the European premium segment.
The state-of-the-art factory in Timișoara has been operated by the German parent company IKO Sportartikel Handels GmbH since 2022 and currently employs around 200 skilled workers. Here, high-quality e-bikes, gravel, road, and mountain bikes are produced — both under the corratec brand and for selected partners such as woom and soon Simplon.
With this cooperation, the European value chain in bicycle manufacturing will be further strengthened. Simplon will receive its own dedicated assembly line with quality control at the Timișoara site, operated by experienced corratec teams that ensure both companies’ high standards are met.
