If you are looking for an e-bike for 150 kg or more, the corratec Life series is the right choice. Stable, comfortable and powerful - ideal for people with higher weights or larger space requirements. Whether for everyday use or when traveling: corratec Life gets you reliably to your destination and has been developed for a system weight of up to 180 kg.
The so-called system weight describes the total weight that an e-bike can carry. It is made up of the weight of the rider, clothing, luggage and the bike itself. For example, if you weigh 120 kg and carry a rucksack weighing 10 kg, you have a system weight of around 130 kg - not including the bike.
However, many commercially available e-bikes are only designed for a system weight of 120 to 130 kg. This can quickly lead to problems for people with a higher body weight. The corratec Life was developed in collaboration with the sports physician Dr. Ludwig Geiger specifically for a system weight of 150 kg - the aim is to enable more people to cycle.
Standard models often reach their limits with high weights. This affects

- Braking performance - the braking distance increases with more weight
- Wheels & spokes - higher loads can lead to deformation
- Motor support - less range with a higher total weight
- Risks of overloading
An overloaded e-bike is not only less efficient, but also dangerous. Riding safety can suffer, resulting in unstable behavior when cornering, longer braking distances and increased wear. It is therefore essential to choose a bike that suits your needs.
