Revolution 29 SL Eagle

The World of MTB has tested overall 9 Hardtail and 5 Full Suspension XC-Race-Bikes in order to prove their ability and function for long and challenging xc competition tracks. The Frame

The frame of the Revolution received for the season 2018 an update with several changes. the Low Profile chain stay has been completely removed. Instead there are actually two small curves at the seat stays close to the seat tube. This new detail ensures additional comfort, traction and stability. A further novelty of the frame is the integrated Boost Technology. This method causes a wider front and rear hubs of 3 respectively 10 mm. This results in the fact that the spokes are rather horizontal positioned and therefore features increasing stiffness and stability. Furthermore the bottom bracket grew about 3 mm as well. Another eyecatcher is the new color combination of the frame with a glossy blue. A further detail of the frame is the double tighten seat clamp. This part require the advantage to justify the correct seat height after removal.

The Components

The current high end version of the carbon hardtail revolution is equipped with the Sram XX1 Eagle. The group consists of a XX1-Rear Derailleur, a XO1-Cassette and a X1-Chainwheel. The shifting system convinces in the praxis with functionality and lightweight. Concerning the tire

On the Trail

During the ride, the bike convinces with first class climbing behavior due to the comparatively long chain stay of 440 millimetre. The Sram XX1 Eagle shifts quickly and accurately. On a ragged surface, the seat post with its dimensions of 27.2 millimeters and the curved seat stays offer extra comfort. At the same time, the seating position is sporty and the deep stem allows the rider to put plenty of pressure on the front wheel. On the trails downhill, the bike is fast and safe on the track. In terms of suspension, the RockShox SID World Cup provides cushioning with sub 1.400 grams and excellent stiffness values ​​as well as remote lockout at the handlebar to meet the needs of fast and challenging XC courses. Powerful Magura MT8 Carbon works perfectly on demanding tracks.

Conclusion
