The riders Wolfgang Hofmann and Tomas Mojares took the victory in their categories at the 24th edition of the challenging uphill race up to the highest peak in Austria. Additionally Michael Markolf reached the finish line within the top 10 contenders of an overall field of more than 2000 finishers and scored a further podium result with the 2nd place in his age class. The carfree track is one of the most challenging climbs on the race agenda, what can be underlined by the statement of a successful marathon rider and Ötztal winner like Bernd Hornetz, who emphasizes, after his first participation, that this was one of his hardest race he has been taking part so far. Meanwhile another team member, namely Bart Bury, participated at the italian Granfondo „Marcialonga“ during his altitude training camp. He catched the 2nd place in his category and crossed the finish line in 10th position overall as the best-non italian rider.
On Sunday the 11th of June, the riders will be faced with a further huge challenge, the „SuperGiroDolomit“ with more than 5000 meters of climbing and approximately 230 kilometers. On the one hand the shape and condition of each team rider in relation to the team spirit are crucial key facts of the general team success, but one the other hand one must take into account the support and the material surrounding the team athletes in the same way. Therefore the riders rely on the high quality carbon road bikes, CCT Evo and CCT Team, from the corratec brand.
