Ötztaler Radmarathon

On September 02 2018, the legendary ÖtztalBike Marathon took place,

in which 5,500 meters of altitude and 238 kilometers with a total of 4 Alpine passes (Kühtai, Brenner, Jaufenpass and Timmelsjoch) are on the menu.

A total of 4,000 participants. After a sensational victory in 2017 our team corratec was fully motivated at the startline. At the beginning everything went according to our plan and some team riders including team leader Michael Spögler were able to place themselves in the leading group.

However, he was not able to perform at his usual level and from the Jaufenpass he was not able to stay in the leading group. At the downhill at Jaufenpass Roland Döring had a flat tire and he was able to get to the next corratec service point "Moos". Unfortunately he lost a lot of time due to his breakdown.

Despite these problems, team corratec achieved 2nd place in the team ranking and achieved some outstanding individual results:

  • Michael Markolf 10th place
  • Daniel Debertin 15th place
  • Andreas Schmoll 47th place
  • Markus Emmerich 48th place
  • Roland Doering 151st place
  • Michael Spögler 169th place
