But the main priority is the desire for cycling - that's why the brand name is highlighted by the claim "Passion of Cycling".
Tradition - with roots in the alpine region
It all began with a passion for winter sports: Konrad Irlbacher Senior was an enthusiastic winter athlete and alpine skier in the national team. In 1972, he founded the sports store iko in the city center of Rosenheim, where he also sold his own skis under the same name. Konrad Irlbacher Junior has inherited the sports affinity from his father, but with a focus on cycling. In 1990, the bicycle brand corratec was born and moved to Raubling two years later. Since then, the company headquarters, production and retail trade have been located under one roof. The proximity to the Alps and the connection to the homeland are important components in the development of corratec.
Sportiness – top performance from the beginning
Just four years after the company was founded, the Swiss Bruno Risi achieved the first coup for corratec. He won the world championship title on a corratec bicycle. In the same year, the Danish Jan Ostergaard achieved the first World Cup victory at the MTB World Cup. Success in sports and the support of professional cycling have been important to corratec from the first day on. 2021 - the crucial year for corratec. Simon Gegenheimer wins the world championship title in Graz on the corratec Revo Bow SL Factory racing bike.
Innovation – focus the future
It is not only entrepreneurial skills that have made corratec so successful. The main reason lies in the curiosity and innovative spirit of founder Konrad Irlbacher. The constant demand for performance improvement led to many new innovations that revolutionized the sport of cycling. From the unique arc of the corratec BOW design in 1993, to the first racing bike with disc brakes in 1995, to highly developed technical innovations - corratec always keeps the future of cycling firmly in mind.
Quality – Production & design at the highest level
High-quality bicycles manufactured with great attention to every detail are the signature of corratec. The demand for first-class quality is just as great as the need for innovative developments. In order to guarantee the high quality of his products and to always be up to date, Konrad Irlbacher prefers to test his bikes himself before starting the production. For this accuracy, corratec has already been awarded several times with various prizes - most recently by Focus E-Bike.
